Starting Out and Looking Back

12 years ago I had just turned 30 and was sitting infront of a nurse who told me that I had to start taking Statins because my last blood test showed high levels of cholesterol. I was totally shocked, the nurse continued, she was ready to write up the prescription there and then. I politely declined and said I would think about it. As I went home and thought about what had happened, the initial shock turned into a realisation that something was not right. Firstly the fact that the nurse was clearly overweight herself and not in good shape and then I was working out eating well all of it didn’t make sense.

In the end I did not go on the statins or do anything to lower my cholesterol levels. I did research alot more into health and fitness and also bio-optimisation ( getting the most from your body and mind). I like this term as it fits well with what I believe my mission in life is to continue to strive and struggle to improve on every level and realise the full potential of my mind and body to achieve my goals and give help others to do the same.

So for the last few years I have done this, continued to learn and do all I can to optimise my health and mind in all areas and although I am still a long way from acheiving my full potential I have made progress on this journey. This blog is now to start the 2nd part of the mission and to help others.

I have read alot and continue to do so with an average of 6-8 books a month every month for the last 10 years, I want to use this blog to help disseminate some of the knowledge. I hope this helps you on a similar journey.

My best Nadim
